Real Christianity

Dear friends,

December 16, 2009, was a special service at our home church, The Sanctuary of Dublin. Senior Minister, Randall Gearhart, our head intercessor, Margie Sewell, visiting prophet, Carlie Lastinger, and I spoke. The Holy Spirit flowed between us in a wonderful way.
I believe this joint message will be a great blessing to you. Real Christianity is upon us!

Perspective is Everything

Friends,

I have not written in a while. Several of you have inquired after me and I deeply appreciate your concern. I have been in what could best be described as “consternation” in prayer for our country—have also been battling exhaustion, but am much better.

“Allah” is the word that continuously comes to my spirit when I pray. Most Westerners do not understand Moslem witchcraft. This false religion is one of the purest manifestations of the antichrist spirit on the earth.

I have been to sites where human sacrifice was performed in Satanic ritual and knew the presence of evil. The most evil place I have been to date is the Dome of the Rock, the mosque on the disputed Temple Mount—my family and I went there on a tour before it was closed to the public.  The air literally crackled with evil that could be heard and felt.

Islam will dominate global politics in the Last Days because of whoredom for money and oil. We forget that those who live in the Tribulation will lose their heads for the testimony of Jesus.  Who beheads on the global net and television now? I have been praying for a couple of days and feel strongly some kind of attack on Iran is forthcoming to take out the madman megalomaniac, Mahmoud Ahmandinejab, who seeks to destroy Israel and the United States.

I would beg Christians here to pray for the safety of President Obama and his family, and also that nothing can be construed by our system to declare martial law and suspend the 2010 elections.

I am very serious about this request. Our nation is under siege from within and without.

It is also appalling to me to discern the manic zeal geysering in our society to silence common sense and the open mockery of any Christian virtue when we are such a fragile state militarily, economically, and in every way. The United States is quite literally a drunken, staggering giant who has never needed God’s help so desperately and has never hated Him so openly.

A young friend, Jonathan, sent me the following quote today, which I was not aware existed, but struck a deep place in my soul,

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”  —General George Washington

The strangulation of free speech and the declaration of the Word of God is coming openly through legislation with “hate crimes” attachments.

The America of my childhood is being thrown away.

My father and mother were both veterans of WWII—my dad a disabled veteran who I am now convinced had P.T.S.D. from his service as a teenager in Europe. He never would talk about what he experienced. I went to see “Saving Private Ryan” and had to leave the theatre because of the Holy Spirit telling me, “Now you know why your dad is the way he is.”

My whole life has been shaped by WWII and the scars of my unstable dad, who is now dead.  All my uncles were in active combat. My wife’s uncle died on the beach at Normandy.

All that our parents and grandparents sacrificed for this nation, and the world for that matter, is being thrown away—BUT FOR GOD, THE LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE WILL BE BOUND BY CRUEL TYRANNY!

The Lord has been speaking a word to me for the past year—2009 has been a year to remember for me, don’t know about the rest of you—which I found strange:  “SOLSTICE”. Solstice comes twice a year, the longest day of light in Summer, and the longest day of darkness in Winter.

I believe we are entering into a time of either the longest day or the longest night dependent on perspective, foundation, and source. Consider the following Scripture,

“Arise, shine;

For your light has come!

And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,

And deep darkness the people;

BUT THE LORD WILL ARISE OVER YOU,

AND HIS GLORY WILL BE SEEN UPON YOU.” —Isaiah 60:1-2 (Caps mine)

This passage in Isaiah indicates that the Glory of God will be poured out on His people AT THE SAME TIME gross darkness is covering the earth: two kingdoms coming to their fullness side by side, Light and darkness. The Holy Spirit is being poured out upon all flesh and men’s hearts are responding based upon their will and perspective.

Mankind is manifesting, out of the abundance of each heart, either Christ or anti-Christ:  both Revival and Apostasy are upon us!

I was saved in the last 1970’s during the recession and inflationary interest rates of near 25% on home loans—Congress was in the same mode it is now, just not as far-reaching to the future. I prayed and fasted much for America, knowing 1980 was a great turning point one way or another.

During that time, the Lord made it plain to me that a great Visitation would begin in the 1990’s, and that huge Black ministries would arise, seemingly out of nowhere. He told me that trouble and division would come, but Revival would hit America that would be like the days of Heaven! I have prayed consistently for 30 years that at least 100,000,000 would be saved in the United States.

The Lord showed me also that on the backside of this Revival, heavy oppression would come from our government, whose minions would be furious their plans had been delayed. I saw more, but will not elaborate at this time. It will suffice to say that God will allow foreign powers to punish this nation at the right time, even as He did Israel in her rebellion.

God puts up with a lot, but don’t kill His servants and burn His churches!

We must draw close to the Lord and get our eyes upon Him, our perspective in the Light, “beholding the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world.”  The following lengthy passage of Scripture pretty much says it all:

“Be shattered all you peoples, and be broken in pieces!

Give ear, all you from far countries.

Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces;

Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces.

Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;

Speak the word, but it will not stand,

For God is with us.’

For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:

‘Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all this people call a conspiracy,

Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.

The Lord of Hosts, Him you shall hallow;

Let Him be your fear,

And let Him be your dread.

He will be as a sanctuary,

But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense

To both of the houses of Israel,

As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And many of them shall stumble;

They shall fall and be broken,

Be snared and taken.

Bind up the testimony,

Seal the law among My disciples.

And I will wait on the Lord,

Who hides His face from the house of Jacob;

And I will hope in Him.

Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me!

We are for signs and wonders in Israel form the Lord of Hosts,

Who dwells in Mount Zion.

And when they say to you, ‘Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,’ should not a people seek their God?  Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?

To the law and to the testimony!  If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they shall be driven into darkness.” —Isaiah 8:9-22

As I said, the days ahead will be “solstice” either the longest day, or the longest night, dependent upon one’s perspective.  The glory of God will cover those who seek Him unto seal and separation; darkness shall cover those who hate His ways.

It will, in so many ways, be the best of days and the worst of days during which those who hear will not be able to distinguish between the sound of rejoicing for the glory of God being poured out and the sound of weeping for the gross darkness that has stricken our pleasant lives.

Herein lies the Great Falling Away, the Apostasy, for American Christians I fear. A European minister confided in me that he strongly believed the spiritual darkness in Europe was a direct result of the horrors of WWII—many Christians felt betrayed by God, that He had let them down by allowing such destruction to come upon their world.  So many Christians here have embraced a belief system that will not accept they should ever see hard times.  God help and deliver us all!

The corruption of the faith message has become “The favor of God is equal to money and ease.” How sad for those men and women of valor who fought and labored for the Body of Christ! I sat under Dr. Kenneth Hagin, who openly said he knew people would take parts of what he preached and ruin themselves and others. He taught that Biblical prosperity was a lifestyle of giving and obedience to God and was for the Kingdom of God first, and the individual believer secondly. How far we have fallen!

May the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus, find faith here when we return, may we not be deceived in our prosperity, and may the love of the Truth never leave any of us or our loved ones, in Jesus Name! May the Blood of Jesus separate us from every deception!

Last night when I was preparing to sleep, I was praying for our nation, for our president, for our leaders, both secular and in the Church. I do so know a great storm is ahead! The following Scripture flickered across my soul,

Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted.

Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.

THEN they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, AND HE SAVED THEM OUT OF THEIR DISTRESSES.

HE SENT HIS WORD AND HEALED THEM, AND DELIVERED THEM FROM THEIR DESTRUCTIONS.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.”

—Psalms 107:17-22 (caps mine)

I slept a peaceful and untroubled sleep after I read these words that literally shone on the page. I know God will visit us in the storm and will redeem our land.

Again, beloved, perspective is everything!

Feast on the Lord and His faithfulness and delight yourself in Him and lay every poison down. Don’t be afraid of anything but the awesome Holiness of our God!

Lift Jesus up!

Don’t be surprised or caught off guard by anything, and give thanks in everything! Keep your gaze locked on Target.

In Jesus,

Living in Goshen

Friends,

As much as I do not want it, I see extreme confrontation coming into our nation. We are stepping into a season of globally orquestrated financial, political, and social overthrow and pulldowns, and attempted dissections and amputations.

The Church will have to take a stand or join the growing throng of beguiled antichrist disciples, striving to build an earthly kingdom along with the “great brotherhood of man” to usher in the “golden age of mankind”. Americans are gullible as a whole.

The Christian foundations of our nation are being dismantled before us and no one takes it to heart. God will not be mocked. God has put it so strongly in my heart that Judgment comes. We are witnessing an attempted overthrow of our government and country. I know the South will be a target because of our strong Christian base and our pro-American politics. Much will be required of us, along with the care of our church people and many refugees coming in the next few years.

The carpetbaggers are coming back again to the South. Do some research on the subjugation of the South politically and financially after the Civil War. I have seen this coming for many years, since 1977. This country will be divided. There will be martyrs. The Lord has been having me pray that individual states will reject the money and control of the Federal government. I know that this is wild. I also know that persecution is coming.

There will be a great attempt by authorities to use pastors to control and disseminate false information to the Christians they influence—the enticement will be money and a “lack of pressure” from the state.

A great push to villainize ministry is coming—that threat will be used to put preachers and ministries “in the government’s pocket”. Preachers will have to decide whether we are whores or men and women of God—money and “freedom”, along with the “benevolence” of the state will be the hire of the harlot.

We are personally in the fight of our lives. It is not financial, although it has been an issue as I am not taking a full schedule. I deeply appreciate your prayers and support, as this is the fight of our lives. I honestly believe we are facing death or destiny as a family. We have become visible targets, especially since God has opened my eyes to the horror and penalty of abortion over this nation.

God—not Satan—is dismantling a religious system that quenches the Holy Spirit and holds people in powerlessness and fruitlessness.

Great shaking, shaking, SHAKING, EVEN LITERAL SHAKING is upon us!

We are witnessing the final greedy, blood-soaked gasp and desperation of a failed fifty year old Utopian, antichrist experiment in government—it will bankrupt the country completely trying to keep itself alive.

We are experiencing something similar in the Church—dinosaurs are not going to survive the spiritual climate change. Be adaptable in this hour and discard “learned” models and behavior of ministry. Church government that protects, promotes, corrects, and flourishes the people of God will stand. The era of kings has come in secular government. The era of spiritual dynasties is ending in the Church.

Read Acts 8 and the account of Simon the sorcerer—he had beguiled the people with his craft for a long time. The people thought he was the mighty power of God. When the real Jesus stood up, even Simon believed, but tried to buy the anointing to continue to control people. Peter’s warning to him was severe:

“But Peter said to him, ‘Destruction overtake your money and you, because you imagined you could obtain the [free] gift of God with money! You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is all wrong in God’s sight [it is not straightforward or right or true before God]. So repent of this depravity and wickedness of yours and pray to the Lord that , if possible, this contriving thought and purpose of your heart may be removed and disregarded and forgiven you. For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in a bond forged by iniquity to [fetter souls].’” Acts 8: 20-23

Wherever the souls of God’s people have been fettered by what they were duped to believe was the might power of God is about to be shaken. Wherever the anointing was presumed to be for sale will be judged. What contriteness must be imbedded in Holy repentance!

Tyrants in both realms will try to hold their sway at great cost to themselves and those who are so beguiled by them. You will see.

Jesus is coming back to His People. He will be the stumblingblock of every king, prophet, and priest who contrives to fetter the souls of God’s Elect! God Himself is dissolving every enslaving yoke, to let the oppressed go free!

God will also challenge the lawlessness and lack of Holy fear for Him among His own. We are in a short sale of reaping and sowing and reaping in every arena, both good and bad. May He prosper and establish your lives and ministry in these deceiving and heartbreaking times, in His Own desires and purposes.

May we all be willing, not to be scavenging hyenas circling prey, but stand in God’s Presence and allow His River to flow from our innermost being!

I am including the following excerpt from a "God-sent" letter of encouragement from Sister Dot Jordan:

Because there is not one family now that is not being hit with some need, whether it is a need for a job, a need to sell a house, a need to be healed, emotional needs, a need for salvation—whatever—God has put it on my heart so strongly what the answer is. Matthew 6:33 "Seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, and all of these things will be given to you as well." This is a promise by Jesus Christ and all of heaven are waiting for us to do the above so that they can move on our behalf.
Friends, be ready to adapt to change. We will all see more than we want to see and know more than we want to know. We will stand as long as we stand upon the Rock. I know this sounds negative, but as I was thinking about the state of the nation, this little verse came into my mind:

Trembling house upon the sand,
Living in a shaking land,
Deaf and blind,
Dumb and dead,
We’ve chosen Judgment for our bed.

As Christians, we must decide now, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

There will be an upsurge in the economy that will hold for a very short time. The printing of trillions of dollars that has no real value backing the money, can only be resolved by monetizing our national debt and reducing the real power of the dollar, or perhaps going to a completely new currency altogether. To make this plain, the mentality is something like this, “I owe 100 dollars. I only have 20. I will print 500 dollars, but only actually have 100, then will pay my debt of 100”. This is the reality of what is happening without the absolute mercy of God and turnaround. This will mean inflation and high interest rates on a scale unknown in our history.

Do no let fear be the cyanide of your faith, as God will adapt and I believe even prosper His people, but oh what a shaking is upon us, I believe the season of men’s hearts actually failing them for fear. I also strongly believe God wants His people to be dependent on Him and not Uncle Sam. He has a table prepared for us. Our kingdom is not of this world. We were made for this hour.

Everything God has ever whispered to any of us about vision, purpose, destiny, calling, and plans is for now, now ,NOW—don’t delay your obedience to God. Look at the following Scriptures:

“You whom I [the Lord] have taken from the ends of the earth, and have called from the corners of it, and said to you, You are my servant—I have not chosen you and have not cast you off [even though you are exiled]. Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. Behold all they who are enraged and inflamed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; they who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you but shall not find them; they who war against you shall be nothing, as nothing at all. For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord Who says to you, fear not, I will help you!” -Isaiah 41:9-13

Leaders and mature Christians must stand in this hour to strengthen the weak and young—we must realize quickly we are caught between two realms, Heaven and earth. We know our Fountain, our Source: we must drink from Heaven and eat on earth! We must stand, discerning the darkness, weathering the withering cultural change that is upon us, and teach God’s people how to live and love the Lord. We must do His work and find our blessing in the presence of our enemies.

We must have the faith and obedience to live in Goshen and the great and precious promises of God no matter what rages outside the Shelter of the Most High! We will have His Light in our dwellings when darkness that can be seen and felt consumes those who hate Him.

We will suffer many things at the hand of man, but will be spared from the Wrath of God. We will live in Passover! We must draw near our Rock. The hatred of Christians is now a national mantra. All things evil, anti-Christ, and Moslem are exalted. Do not fear, but stand in the reality that we must live and breath and have our being in the Presence of the Living God. We must not deny the testimony of Jesus Christ in this present darkness. Never forget our battle is not against flesh and blood, or that we are called by God to submit to civil authority insomuch as it does not force us to disobey the Word of God.

At the same time realize that the Civil Rights Movement was forged by mostly Christians who were willing to face beatings, fire hoses, mobs, police dogs, unjust arrests, a biased legal system, church burnings, and death. When I was a child, God spoke to me. I knew when I watched these scenes of injustice and horror on television, it was a foretelling of things to come for the whole Body of Christ in the future. Keep in mind the home church of a Spirit-filled Christian female Vice-Presidential candidate was totally destroyed by fire, a torching, with almost no press coverage, and a black out on all reporting at such injustice since. She was hung in effigy in many parts of the country, but that is just “freedom of speech."

Wow! Count the cost in this hour and stand on your most holy Faith. Great deception is afoot. Remember that a deceived segment of the Old Testament Church, primarily the entrenched religious leaders who trusted in the Roman government and not God (these also found their reward in money and control) put Jesus on the Cross, which He submitted to willingly for our salvation. A similar betrayal will come in the future.

Christians who want an earthly kingdom, who trust in man and not God, and who are willing to compromise to avoid pressure and gain prosperity, will turn on the Christians who refuse to bow their knee to Caesar. Start to take the preaching you hear to the Word of God. Know why you believe what you believe. The spirits of anti-Christ and Apostasy are deceiving many and dividing families. We will sorrowfully realize the Truth really does have a price, but what joy will overwhelm any sorrow! Above all, look beyond the circumstances and stand on what will not be shaken, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: …A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away.”—Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 6

American Christians must see and discern the season and the time, and to know and embrace the matter and purpose of heaven in all these things. We must allow the standard of the Word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit to cause us to know what we must get, what we must lose, and what we must keep and what we must cast away. We will plainly see what can be shaken and what cannot be shaken. Those things that are earthly and founded on rebellion will be shaken. Those things that are eternal and founded on the Word and in submission to God will stand.

What do you need to lose and cast away no matter what? What must you get and keep at all costs? What price are we willing to pay? Whatever we compromise Jesus to keep, we wind up losing anyway. Ask the rich young ruler who denied Jesus for his status when Jesus was choosing disciples—he was still alive when Jerusalem was sacked. He gave up an opportunity to walk with Jesus on the earth for a kingdom which was taken in front of his eyes. He remembered. For many of us Americans, the rooster is about to crow the third time with the dawning of the Day. We will see Jesus’ Face and will look in His Eyes.

We will remember.

The High Price of Vengeance When God Wants Revival

I ministered this message at my home church, The Sanctuary of Dublin, Wednesday, June 10, 2009. I believe this is a wake-up call for the Body of Christ, and I pray that God will speak to your heart as you listen.

The Ancient of Days Arises!

I woke up this morning and began to write down Scriptures and read them.

A great shaking beyond any preconceived possibilities is coming to us. There will be some kind of furor and collapse within President Obama’s administration—I urge the saints to pray for the protection of the President, his wife, and children, regardless of your political affiliations. We are commanded to in Scripture, in case you don’t remember.

I believe every Christian is being shaken. I believe every human is being shaken. I believe the Holy Spirit is being poured out on all flesh. I believe the very creation, including the ground under our feet, is being shaken, and will shake. This is not climate change—it is spiritual upheaval being manifested in the natural realm.

What we have experienced thus far will be seen as small in comparison to what lies ahead. I have gone through an enormous season of strangulation in every arena of my life—in 30 years of being a Christian, I have not known the torment that has assailed us. In the midst of this, there is a calm and peace that is frightening in its severity. It is not surrender to “my fate”, but it is knowing in the midst of it all, heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word of God will remain forever.

I have never seen the treachery and destruction of the enemy so plainly. I have never discerned his destruction and deception so acutely: I have never known my absolute dependence on God so painfully.

I have walked the last several months in a hidden place in God that is killing me and giving me life simultaneously. In the midst of every moment, the insistent urging of the Holy Spirit has been to remain steadfast and immovable, to trust God, and to be stable in Him.

For all of the strain and anxiety with the cares of life, “But God…”, is a mantra worth remembering.

“See that you do not refuse Him Who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him Who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him Who speaks from heaven, Whose Voice then shook the earth, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore SINCE WE ARE RECEIVING A KINGDOM WHICH CANNOT BE SHAKEN (caps mine), let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” —Hebrews 12:25-29
We are in one of those “once more” moments of God’s Master Plan in which the façade of tolerance towards true Christians and Jews is dissolving, and God will deal with His people, and mankind with acts grander than any we read about in His Story past in the Word of God.

If the glory of the latter House shall be greater than the glory of the former, then how much more shall the Majesty of God be revealed to this earth tangibly, visibly, terribly in this hour?

Christians have been hijacked for many years trying to keep peace with a system that hates God and everything He stands for.

The frenzy of this system to destroy every foundation and remnant of good and decency reminds me of piranhas in a feeding maelstrom—-our leaders are like manic sociopaths marching through this nation with political and judicial sandblasters seeking to erase the memory of God! Like giddy cannibals they feast upon the flesh, sorrow, delusion, deception, rebellion, and destruction the rejection of God brings, bound together in demonic unity fueled by iniquity in the bowels of the anti-Christ spirit. Their peace is false peace, like a drug induced stupor.

Every economy, institution, agency, political party, and foundation has been seized, taken from the Rock of Ages, and built upon such a shallow grave of human ridiculousness and intentional denial of the Truth. The industry of misery produced by the absence of God……the more it hurts the louder they scream, but blame Him for the wages of sin.

Sin always produces death, and the gift of God is always eternal life through Jesus Christ! What fools! God will not be mocked, whatever a man sows, he reaps. Stand up and stand back—-our love affair with this culture is turning sour! God is rising up to get the attention of His harlot fiancé.

We will be Bride or the enemy of Christ in this hour, Church. The Ancient of Days is about to get our attention.

“Sing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in Zion! Declare His Deeds among the people. When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble…… The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; in the net which they hid, their own foot is caught. The Lord is known by the judgments He executes; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation.” —Psalm 9:1-12,15-16.
God is about to avenge blood—The Blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, the blood of the martyrs, the blood of innocent babies, the blood of greed and injustice and all harlotries. Everything that can be shaken will—SO THAT WE CAN DISCERN WHAT CAN NOT BE SHAKEN. We are so beguiled by the world, the flesh, and the devil that we are blind to the purpose of a very crucial part of eternity, OUR TIME IN THE FLESH.

ternity does not start when we die—we are living in eternity now, and according to Scripture, we will not receive the kingdom which cannot be shaken in the future when we are in Heaven, WE ARE NOW RECEIVING A KINGDOM WHICH CANNOT BE SHAKEN WHILE EVERYTHING ELSE THAT CAN BE SHAKEN IS BEING SHAKEN. This is our wake-up call to discern the PERMANENCE OF GOD’S PURPOSE AND PLAN AND HIS GREAT DESIRE FOR US TO UNDERSTAND.

I do not want to disturb the reader’s religious sensibilities, but if something can be shaken, it needs to be shaken. It not only needs to be shaken, it has to be shaken. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other grounds are sinking sand. A Mighty Fortress is our God, a Bulwark never failing.

This is where the rubber hits the road and we awaken from the stupor of our idolatry to see that we are strangers, pilgrims here, and that we are “just passing through”. Marx, in his anti-Christ fervor and wisdom that is earthly, sensual, and demonic, declared that religion is the opiate of the people. No, beloved, Babylon is the opiate of the people—the world system that controls mankind through mutually shared rebellion against God on every level, money, lust, fear , etc.

Babylon is not a place, but a stronghold of thought that originated with Satan, and after many other singular manifestations, strove to build a tower up to heaven on the plains of Shinar. This tower was built with all of humanity in one mind and agreement to challenge and to mock God—-their very vow was,

“Come let us build a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the earth.” —Genesis 11:4
This global government was headed by Nimrod, the cursed seed of Cush, the descendant of Ham—he was a mighty hunter upon the earth, the first tyrant and manifestation of anti-Christ on a corporate scale. I believe he was the first man tagged by Satan to strive to control mankind, and to build a system on God-hate. Nimrod, I believe, was also a hunter for the souls of men. Read the account of God’s judgment upon Babylon in Revelations,

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities…..And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every object of ivory……and bodies and souls of men." —Revelation 18:4-5,11-13
Satan is the god of this world. He is wroth knowing his time is short. He raises up anti-Christ in men to create systems that deceive and oppose God. He veils the hearts of unbelievers and distorts the true nature and character of God through deceiving spirits. His power source is summed up in the rebellion of human nature, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life, the hatred of the Light, and the love of the darkness. He controls the bodies and souls of men. Some are captives. Some love the darkness—the manimals.

Those who have forever hardened their hearts to God. Beware saints, for they will be our greatest opposition in the years ahead. They walk in the realm of darkness with wisdom that is earthly, sensual, demonic: they are wiser than the children of Light.

The Lord is about to do a shaking in our sight guaranteed to not be made by human hands and promised to garner the attention of everyone who is not given over to Apostasy. It will be like a tornado that sweeps away what was carefully constructed to stand. I know that even the ground under my feet will shake. I know that all the king’s horses and all the king’s men will never put Humpty together again. There is a reason for this shaking:

“…..in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God.” —I Corinthians 2:4b-5.

It is not mere mortal man standing in God’s stead and in His Anointing that has been called out and put down—-the Ancient of Days has risen up as in the days of old to do His strange and His peculiar work, the likes of which no man can claim. He is descending upon spiritual Mount Carmel and is about to face the prophets of Baal who have subdued our culture and seek to rule the world. Our God still answers by fire—in fact, He is a consuming fire.

I awoke this morning from a restless night with these words in my heart. The wages of sin are and will always be death. There is not a right way to do a wrong thing. Let people rail on the Truth, malign every concept of decency, virtue and honor. Let them pass laws and appoint demons in human form to positions of authority—the Truth is still the Truth and God is still God.

The mention of common sense causes those who hate God to spew venom and the world laps it up. “THERE ARE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG, NOT BECAUSE THEY VIOLATE ANY MAN-MADE LAW, OR GO AGAINST NATURAL FACTS, BUT BECAUSE THEY GO AGAINST THE MORAL GRAIN OF RIGHT AND WRONG ESTABLISHED BY GOD.

Literally, this is one of those “God Times” when we continue our obedience despite the cost, step aside from our own ways and into the protection of worship, intercession, and supplication. Step into the Secret Place of God. The Name of the Lord is a High Tower; the righteous run into Him and are glad.

“Come my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were for a little moment, until the indignation is past. For behold, the Lord comes out of His Place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will also disclose her blood and will no more cover her slain.” —Isaiah 26:20-21
Keep short accounts with God and man. Walk as close to the Lord as is in your power and understanding. Judgment comes. This is one of those, “knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men” moments. I say this in all humility, fear, and trembling, almost disjointed in my soul. Be resolved in your heart to follow the Lord. Be like the wise virgins—keep your lamp full and your wicks trimmed. The midnight hour comes and the Bridegroom approaches!

Your pastor, your parents, your husband, your wife, or your spiritual friends can not carry you in the day of adversity—it will be a you and Jesus thing. What you sow with Him, you will reap with Him. Be addicted to loving Him.

“Finally all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. For ‘He who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the Eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His Ears are open to their prayers; But the Face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” And who is he who will harm you for doing good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. ‘And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.’ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evil-doers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” —I Peter 3:13-17
More will be required of us than we have knowledge. We must do the works of the One who has sent us in the presence of our enemies. That is where we find our table of blessing. Do not live in fear, but fear God and live! We must be informed. We must stand. We must disagree with what disobeys the Word of God. We must do good deeds and as much as in our power, to promote righteousness.

The Light manifests the darkness. God is pouring His Spirit out on all flesh—the tender heart manifests Christ, the dark heart, anti-Christ.

We are not losing ground, Friend! God is blowing this caper wide open! We must gird ourselves before the Lord. Procrastination has been rampant. We have not prepared ourselves for the storm. So many are poisoned by bitterness, given to gangrene of rebellion, hatred, iniquity. There is little fear of God in the Church—I say this to my own shame and to yours. We forget the warning of Scripture,

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the House of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the Gospel of God? Now ‘If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”—I Peter 4: 17-18
Be ready to give an account of yourselves before God. Do not forget to do good, especially to other Christians of every church—the needless divisions and elitist manure must end. Promote good, and mercy, in every arena. The Lord Himself is holding the Blood of Jesus before the Mercy Seat and the Throne of God for justice! Time has been spent. So much must be accomplished in so short a time. We have lost much through a lack of understanding of the times and seasons, and through the cruelty of the oppression of circumstances.

I believe we have a new anointing from God to gain hope, and freedom. I know this is the time for the parable of the dragnet and the vineyard to come to pass. Those who come into obedience will be rewarded at the 12th hour as if they had never missed a step. I also know a great spiritual movement has begun in both Light and Darkness—so much is going to happen so quickly, and so many are coming in, we will have to tend to the Truth and let God sort out the Harvest.

Anything that remotely resembles a church will be full—many filled with iniquity and lawlessness will see great results. The proud heart will not receive correction, but will applaud themselves and their anointing.

Tremble you ministers of God—the ingathering will be His and His alone. No flesh will glory in His Presence. Tremble you ministers of God,

“Not everyone who says to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ —Matthew 7: 21-23
Oh, man and woman of God, do not mistake the anointing for God’s Favor and Approval! Do not misconstrue financial blessing for the Hand of God! Know in your heart that what you are doing is God’s Will and Purpose and not your own! Be so very careful in this hour not to be self-willed and self-fulfilling. What price arrogance, stubbornness, pride, self-promotion? What cost for intentional disobedience that is not repented ? Why stand in the pulpit and lie to God’s people telling them “God told me!” when it was your own stubborn will and words? What beguiled you to twist the truth and the Word of God to suit your own purposes? God help us all to come back to life unto Him in this hour and to repent of anything that stands between us and the Good Lord. None of our defense mechanisms, excuses, and half-truths, nor any of our false coverings will stand in the light of His Gaze.

I wonder what shade of pale I will be before the Lord when all secret things are exposed? I am not promoting condemnation, brethren, but honest soul-searching before the Lord. So many times now I can scarcely stand in the pulpit for the weight of God’s Presence. It has not been like this with me since the late 70’s and early 80’s. I have preached afraid that I would drop dead before Him!

This is not hype, but I cry out to you to deliver yourselves into the Hands of the Living God! Our affiliations and titles, our awards, friends, nor our approval rating will carry us in—only the Blood of Jesus and our obedience to Him.

“I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things that remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you… …He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”—Revelation 3:1b-3,5
I have been writing this most of the day, these Scriptures my waking thoughts, with an urgency in my spirit to warn, to beg, to plead, to comfort! I know this is a sober letter, but step aside into Him. Depart from grumbling and complaining! Allow God to clean up whatever mess is around you, in you, or through you! Do it with haste, for Passover comes! THE SHAKING WILL INCREASE AND NOT STOP.

Part company with whatever opposes Jesus, His Words, and His Ways in your heart.

Let the accursed thing go!

I pray that the love of the Truth will not depart you and your household, nor mine, and that neither you, your household, or those you pray for and love will be taken in the Apostasy, in Jesus Name.

This is the real deal. All those prophecies and conferences, visions, dreams, teachings: we’re living in it! Confess up that most of you are in profound prophecy shock already, almost in unbelief you are seeing what you see around you! We are there! Take the extended Hand of the Everlasting Arms—He will make sure your path is a shining path that grows ever brighter to the coming Day. Let all those things the enemy has killed , the God things, be brought back to life again.

THE HOUR TO OBEY IS NOW !

God bless and keep each of you in His Love and Power,

A House of Cards

Last Wednesday night was “one of those” services at church—we did nothing but worship. The Presence of God was tangible, sweet, demanding, convicting. All were weary, expectant, needy. We simply were under the compelling and heady urgency to honor the Holiness and Majesty of our Risen Savior and Lord.

I was standing and singing with my eyes closed thinking about nothing but Jesus, and had the following vision: There was a huge white room with vaulted ceilings like a palace or cathedral. Many men were gathered around a great round table—they were all dressed in black suits. I recognized our president and many national, as well as many international leaders—there were also many I did not recognize, but they all dressed alike and were of one mind and purpose. I knew in the vision these were globally important men at a high-level meeting, and that the table represented world events and plans, particularly concerning the United States.

These men were building a house of cards one card at a time. One would carefully place a card on the table, and all would smile, salute, and toast one another—they did this each time another card was placed upon the growing house in the middle of the great table. They were quite proud and congratulatory of one another and their mutually shared accomplishments.

On the table there were a number of disturbing objects around this increasingly large group project. There was a broken cross and a Bible torn to pieces. There were the bodies of aborted babies, piles of money, weapons bathed in blood. There were men kissing men and women kissing women, and all manner of filth and blasphemy, with many kinds of subtle devices and deceits, like a great web reaching out. With each card that was placed, not only did the house of cards grow, but also the numbers of objects controlling different groups of people, all tied to the piles of dirty money that lay around the table.

The men in black, all men of renown—the kings of the earth—were in great humor. They laughed and boasted, and continued to place cards on the house, which was almost finished. They were standing back and admiring their creation, well pleased with themselves. It seemed as if it would be completed.

Far in the back of the great white vaulted room, a small wooden door opened. Jesus was standing outside the door. He did not enter in—He simply opened the door and smiled. He laughed one slight “Hah!” The house of cards fell flat. That was the end of the vision.

Immediately this Scripture came to me,

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”
What concerns me about this vision is the rest of Psalm 2, “Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.”

I am not led by visions, but this has been both heartrending and sobering for me. I was reminded of the following passage of Scripture as well,

“And they said, Come, let us build a city and a tower whose top reaches into the sky, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, Behold they are one people and they have all one language, and this is they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel...” —Genesis 11: 4-9a
The truth is that achieving global government is moving very quickly—it will hasten unless it is premature, and the Lord will do something remarkable and global to slow or delay this process. This process has been going on since shortly before WWI, and accelerated greatly in the 1960’s. All has been laid in place now, with the United States as the only obstacle to global government.

Since this vision, I have been out to preach once, and have kept something in my heart concerning my youth and early adulthood. Safety was not the issue it is now, and from time to time, I found myself with a tire that had a slow leak. I was always in a hurry and money was tight, so I would fill the tire and use it until it would no longer hold air. Sometimes I could guestimate in minutes how much time I had before another refill was necessary. This is the distinct feeling I have concerning our system—it is a leak which cannot be plugged. Stop putting in air, and it will fall flat.

In the midst of the cacophony of every voice, there is the latent impulse of God, His Latter Days impulse to release revival and glorify the Name of His Son, Jesus Christ, for the Grand Finale. What we are facing most certainly is the end of life as we know it, and the soon return of Jesus. His Peace does not come from this rebellious and failing system—Babylon did not give you His Peace and cannot take it away, no matter what the social thought police may tell us.

This is the hour to draw near to the Bridegroom.

This is the time for you to repair every breech in your relationship with the Lord—He is our Protection and High-Tower.

A lot of funny money—Chinese and Moslem— will flow: get out of debt and do what you are called to do quickly.

It is certainly time not to live in fear, but to fear God and live, to “kiss the Son lest He be angry”!

Love Jesus and love the lost.

Remember the love and equality of the brethren.

In Jesus,

How's Your Apple Cart?

Friends,

This is indeed a season of identification, and the choice of either hardening one’s heart, or pressing into repentance. Murder is one of the works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5: 19-21. Whenever I read this, it seems like a family reunion! The division in this nation and in the Body of Christ is problematic in that we are basing our truth, not on the Word of God, but on the desire of the flesh to supersede The Absolute Truth with the convenience of fitting into a culture that is hostile and increasingly “Reichish”.

The only requirement to fit our New World Order is to love evil and hate righteousness—you are then washed, not in the Blood of the Lamb, but in the blood of the Abortion Holocaust and the millions of young people being turned to God-hate and perversion by the system.

Chaplains can’t mention the Name of Jesus or even God in some cases. All things Moslem are accepted, while all things even faintly Christian are despised and mocked. We are standing insanely in shaking sand, drinking murky poisoned water, cursing the Rock holding out His Everlasting Arms, and heralding our own ability to buy our way out of trouble.

You see, our national moral and spiritual bankruptcy is manifesting naturally. A crisis of identification has come and I fear the people of God are crying out, “We have no king but Caesar!” and also, “Give us Barabbas!” Since my conversion to Jesus in 1977, I have known the Latter Days would be like the days of His Birth, the licentiousness of the debauched Roman Empire. Life was cheap and men fought to the death for entertainment; abortion and infanticide were epidemic.

You might read “The Third Time Around”—by George Grant. One of the main contributing factors of beginning persecution against Christians in the Roman system was their rescue of infants that were thrown outside city gates to perish. Suicide and euthanasia were enobled under the philosophy of Roman culture as well. I expect to see men and women fight to the death for entertainment again before Jesus returns.

We are not far from this now. We defend a religion that beheads its enemies on global television—see anything about beheading in the Book of Revelations? (tip Revelations 20:4) Ours is a culture gone awry. Michael Vick loses his fortune and goes to prison for fighting dogs. If he had gotten ten women pregnant and had his babies killed he would be applauded. Inbred bulldogs are more important than babies. That makes perfect sense to me. Professing ourselves to be wise, we have become fools! The wages of sin will always be death. The gift of God, in this Age, will always be eternal life through Jesus Christ.

This is the flash point. We are at pivot of our culture. Either we have a visitation from God, or we have passed the point of no return. What is your identification? Who do you say is Lord, Jesus or Caesar? That was the only question asked of believers facing government persecution in Rome. If they said Caesar, they retained their fortunes, citizenship, and rights; if they said Jesus, the least they faced was seizure of assets and loss of citizenship—the worst was death by arduous and horrific means. What is your identification?

I went to bed last night with the following Scripture on my heart: “By faith, Moses, when he was grown, refused the privileges of the Egyptian royal house. He chose a hard life with God’s people rather than an opportunistic soft life of sin with the oppressors. He valued suffering in the Messiah’s camp far greater than Egyptian wealth because he was looking ahead anticipating the payoff. By an act of faith, he turned his heal on Egypt, indifferent to the king’s blind rage. He had his eye on the One no eye can see, and kept right on going.” —Hebrews 11: 24-27 (The Message)

I will be the first one to admit that I am a soft man compared to my ancestors. In so many ways I have been at peace with a society that hates good and loves evil. I am not rich or poor by this nation’s standards. I have bills. I suppose I am lazy in some aspects. I have not been a good steward of many important things. I grew up in the shadow of WWII with parents that were both veterans, my dad a disabled veteran. This nation was the standard of the world, and of everything that stood for good. Being a good American and a good Christian went hand in hand. There was no compromise involved in honoring the state.

We reached a point when that was no longer the case in the early 60’s, but few Christians took it to heart—after all, this is America: what if prayer and reading the Bible in front of little children is no longer legal? It’s not such a big deal. No look at us 46 years later—we have become a nation of liars and libertines. Evil is extolled and goodness is mocked. Homosexual activists have full access to schoolchildren and Christians have none. We are such social progressives! A young woman is selling her virginity on E-bay with her parents’ blessing. How enterprising!

Remember that even Lucifer’s name means “light-bearer”—we are in a season of false-light spirits manifesting around us. One of the signs of the Last Days, according to Jesus’ own words, “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show forth great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” —Matthew 24: 24

Be so careful in these years friends—as Americans we are addicted to prosperity, peace, and stability, used to easy answers and quick solutions. A few years ago, a European leader said this, “Give us a man who has the answers, and whether he be a devil or a god, we will follow him.”

People are suffering. They are afraid. Good men and women want and need jobs. So many have had their apple carts upset, their once-thought-stable-for-life plans thrown awry——what are you willing to compromise to keep?

I found long ago that when all else failed, my help came from the Lord. Physically, in times of distress, the immune system is weakened—opportunistic diseases which would not have found place in a healthy body, take advantage of the broken link. Sadly, historically, such is the case with the enemy in times of social upheaval and stress—the very best and worst of human nature is exposed.

I find the hypocrisy of politicians who have bankrupted this nation’s present and future appalling—they rail upon the bonused officials of a failed business, even suggesting they commit suicide, when most of Washington had their fingers in the bank collapse one way or another. I awoke with the following Scripture in my soul, “The lip of truth shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” —Proverbs 12: 19

I know without a doubt the euphoric dementia that grips our nation, the blame shifting, the finger pointing, the excess, the fear, will soon be erased by the candor of necessity. It is said that necessity is the mother of invention—it may soon be said that necessity was the turning point of a nation poised on the brink of civil division and assault by enemies both within and without. I expect Russian and Putin to challenge American and our new President. I expect a crescendo of anti-Christian bias in the next couple of years. I expect God to allow us to be brought to our knees by 2012 with great tumult beginning after the first quarter of 2010.

It is common for the temperatures in summers here to hit 100 and remain there for weeks—I have seen 110 here as a boy. We live in a house that is sealed and insulated. We recently received a letter from our power company asking us to voluntarily have a device installed so they could shut off our power for 3-4 hours a day, at their discretion, during peak usage. That would be noon until dark—in 100-105 degree temperatures. This is the alternative to building new power plants. I wonder how long such measures will be “voluntary”? Since our Speaker of the House has blatantly said, “Aborting babies makes good sense because it saves money.”, I have to surmise this may be a strategy to save more by killing off old and sick people by hyper and hypothermia. That’s one way to save Social Security!

I find amazing peace in the Presence of God in these days. I remain homebound by the decree of the Lord. It is a time of unfolding truth and wonderment to me. I know that God is faithful and that America was founded by God to spread the Gospel and to provide a place of peace, liberty, and prosperity as a Christian nation, regardless of what your history books from hell teach. I know He is not done with this nation, but our full stomach is tainted with the feast of Babylon and the splendor of Sodom.

As a whole, the Church has lost her savor, and the nation is in danger of going into captivity. What must be accomplished to bring us to life again? What stumbling must there be to cause us to kneel?

Prosperity will rebound for a moment—the nations of the world that hate us do not yet have the noose firmly enough about our neck and our politicians still have the barrier of our protection by the Constitution shielding us from their treason. This moment will pass. Remember that heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word of God shall endure forever.

Youth was a nightmare for me, a time of fear and unrestrained rebellion—my God-given conscience was a great burden to me. Now I thank God for what I once hated and cursed! I found out the hard way that whatever I compromised what I knew was true to keep, I wound up losing anyway. There is no fruit so bitter as living in denial about what is right and wrong, blasting one’s conscience with pride, and living long enough to eat the harvest.

Christians, what are you compromising to keep?

How’s your apple cart?

To Everything A Season

The Lord gave me the following Scripture for the nation and the Year of 2009 in the early part of November 2008:

“A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away.” —Ecclesiastes 3:6

I have never really received annual instructions like these, but I am basically homebound by the Lord, or to put it in Scripturese, I am detained by the Lord to be near my family and local church. I have done some travel and local meetings, but the only word I can describe as to what I feel in my spirit is...

PROFOUND.

There is a deep sense of expectation of both good and evil, of foreboding and of peace. I know that God is re-insulating my spiritual nervous system for...

RESILIENCE.

On New Years Day 1994, the moment the New Year had come in, the Lord spoke to me that he wanted me to become like steel-reinforced concrete to stand in a storm for hysterical people whose idols had been removed from them and the carpet had been pulled out from under them. I believe we will have relative peace through 2010, but the strain on our currency through printing money to meet demand added to the burden of Judgment and international events will cause our system to unravel by 2012. There is about to be temporary reprieve and the euphoria of “rebuilding”. Don’t get caught up in the parade, but get out of debt and be will to allow the Lord to change you, to show you what to get, what to lose, what to keep, and what to throw away. Personally, I know God is hemming me in and visiting me so that I will...

STAND.

Not just for myself, but others as well. I am finding Divine appointments and people to minister to everywhere I turn, even in mundane things. I find that every person, Christian and non-Christian, is aware we are living in the end-times and times of...

CHANGE.

During this time of being hemmed in by the Lord, I have the distinct impression the Holy Spirit, like a Sergeant of Arms is calling the Lord’s troops to present arms for inspection, upgrading, and cleaning. I don’t know that I have ever been more aware of how precious and short time really is. Simultaneously I am battling almost a paralysis and numbness which seeks to blanket the moment—I am hearing from so many the same thing. The certainty we are entering into battle none of us in America has ever heretofore seen or felt is...

REALITY.

All that I am hearing from the Lord is too seek Him, draw near, don’t live in fear, but fear God and live, depart from procrastination, do what is in my heart to do, and prepare for the...

GLORY OF GOD.

Just recently in a personal moment of fear, I looked up the Hebrew meaning of the OT name, “Abimelech”. I was so comforted by the knowledge that “the Father is the Lord”. Do not forget in the face of whatever trying circumstances you are facing, to everything there is a season, a definite period of time with...

A BEGINNING AND AN END.

Do not despair or give up seeing the Goodness of God in the land of the living. Don’t believe the lie you have to die and go to Heaven to see better days. Jesus said there would be days like this. Above all, don’t join the throng of delusional Christians who are changing their believe system to adapt to the spirit of anti-Christ pervading our culture, but renew your mind in, soak in, call to remembrance, and stand in...

THE WORD OF GOD.

Everything else will pass away anyway. Your house probably won’t be standing 100 years from now. The car you are driving will be recycled. The relatives you have then won’t know you—you will, at best, be a photograph in someone’s album. What you do in this life to serve and love Jesus will, however, stand forever. Thank God, that because of the Blood of Jesus, both we and our obedience to Him will...

LIVE FOREVER.

Whatever God is telling you to do in your life, do it and do it quickly and excellently. Our laws will soon change, and many who serve the Lord will find themselves under the baleful eye of a system that is increasingly hostile to ministry. Take communion regularly, for I believe it is more significant in this season for a New Testament Believer to receive the Lord’s Table, that when our fathers the Jews received the first Passover in Egypt. We are about to experience a purposeful emergence, change, Divine strategic relocations—we are in an eternal...

SEASON OF PASSAGE.

Do not defer your faith to try to recreate a time of Divine tolerance when we were allowed to embrace an American Jesus, the idolatry of the god of our culture, and not the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Head of the Church and Lord of all Creation. We are facing the reality of the God Who never changes and a culture and nation with a hook in her jaw being led out with every other nation to the...

DAY OF THE LORD.

I pray for you and yours for this to be a safe passage, for God to provide miraculously for you, to protect you marvelously, and that the love of the Truth will never depart from you or your loved ones in this day of Apostasy. Ezra and the elders of Israel were returning from captivity in Babylon to rebuild Jerusalem. They refused the protection of the king of Babylon, but trusted in Almighty God,
“Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a straight and right way for us, our little ones, and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to protect us against the enemy along the way, because we had told the king, ‘The Hand of our God is upon all them for good who seek Him, but His Power and His Wrath are against all those who forsake Him.’ So we fasted and besought our God for this, and He heard our entreaty.” —Ezra 8: 21-23

Beloved, it is time for the rubber to hit the road. I has become so plain to me that most Christians are not looking to Jesus but searching for Moses. We are looking for a flesh and blood deliver and king, but not trusting in the King of Kings. That’s why so many of us have gotten whipped out with preachers—we expected them to deliver us; we put saddles on them and tried to make them take us where only God can. Then we cursed them when they could not take us there. We do the same with political leaders. I have watched Christians implore God for political deliverance for the last 30 years. My observation is that I can always tell when politicians are lying: when their mouth is moving. American Christians are like women so desperate for a man, even when they know better, all they want is to hear what they want to hear. We cry out for our leaders to tell us what we want to hear, love them when they say it the way we want to hear it, and hate them when they disagree. We are more interested in emotional sound-bites than truth—that goes for most folks expectations for preachers as well. Even the unbeliever knows something big this way comes. Read Psalms 37 in the Amplified Bible if you have a copy. We must feast on the Lord and...

HIS FAITHFULNESS.

Above all, strive to be led by the Holy Spirit. He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Teacher, our Helper, our Convictor—most importantly, He is God. He has been given the Power and Authority to force us into the mold of Jesus Christ, to hedge us into His Image, to carry us through His Sufferings. There is something we seem to have forgotten about being led by and filled with the Holy Spirit. “The wind blows (breathes) where it wills and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." —John 3:8

Mind you, I am not talking about being church hoppers or unstable, but these are transient times in which life as we know it is coming to an end. I am convinced so many of us have been at peace with a system that hates God. We have been like Lot prospering in the gates of Sodom. We have wanted the Holy Spirit to bless us in our endeavors, but have forgotten He came to change us. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Our position with God is that He never changes and that everyone and everything else around Him does. What if the purpose of God means a radical change in our lives? What if I am nestled down in place of soul or position that no longer suits the purposes of God? Where has compromise, or presumption, or rebellion, or stubbornness tainted my obedience, and that which the Lord used to wink at, He is now coming for what is His? The Holy Spirit is not just breathing on us, children of God. This is a Last Days call of the four winds of change—this is a command for the saints to come to attention, for our...

ADAPTATION.

This is a day for Holy Spirit damage control, for each of us to allow Him to clean up whatever messes exist around or in us, by our own doing or the intermeddling of others. This is a day for us to come out of the confusion caused by having our minds set on the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the boastful pride of life. This is the time for us to renew our search for tenderness towards our First Love, to reaffirm our commitment to Him as the Pearl of Great Price, and to surrender ourselves. This is the time we must declare our...

Yield to the Lord in this hour, friends. Be instant in season and out. Study to show yourselves approved. Don’t faint in the day of adversity. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His Might. Trust in the Lord

A great many Christians are experientially learning what they have known in their heads—we are so utterly dependent on the Lord.

Be faithful to tithe and give offerings—not lightly, but holding your dependence upon and faith in Jesus before you as the alms of Cornelius came before Him. A phenomena is hitting many good churches I preach for which I find rather unique—mature believers who have been groomed by the Lord to make disciples and support ministry are leaving.

There seems to be a corporate sigh, “I just can’t do this anymore; I’m tired. I don’t know what to do; this isn’t what I expected!”

The same churches are filling up with new folks who don’t know anything about walking in faith—many are poor and the laborers are not there to assist the pastors. I know of two churches that are full who may have to close their doors for lack of funds, serving leaders doing all they know to do.

Please be faithful to support your local churches and to seek God about support outside your church. I believe we should even give to unbelievers!

Remember these verses from Habakkuk, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my Strength, my Personal Bravery, and my Invincible Army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me walk [not stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!”—Habakkuk 3: 18-19

God bless you all—let the Spirit of Jesus Christ move through you to touch the world around you.

Back to the Basics

Friends,

I have been preaching about standing. Several years ago, I was in a near air tragedy—I was in a commuter flight between two large Northern cities. As we were going in for a landing, wind shear caught the plane like a giant hand and threw it. It was a rapid descent until the plane was out of the grip of the wind. Behind me were sitting two stewardesses “patching through” to another flight. One screamed hysterically; the other shouted, “Oh, God, this is it!” I turned around and looked at both of them and said, “Thank you so much for instilling confidence in me! Would you please remember your training?”

I get so many calls and letters, folks standing in prayer lines these days: the following lines would be the gyst of all I am hearing and know is true, “ I am a Christian who loves Jesus with all my heart. I tithe. I give offerings. I pray. I have never made a decision without seeking God, getting counsel, praying and fasting. My whole life is falling apart. My marriage is suffering. My children are not walking with God. I don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know what to do. I am desperate for answers.” My word for you and me, is to instill confidence in other believers, and to remember our training.

This nation is under judgment. Everything is being shaken. Our present economic circumstances are the result of several decades of break neck debt and political chicanery in our nation. To everything there is a season. See what is shaking in your life and stand on the Word of God. Jesus never fails—these are not trite words. He is our only provision, sanity, and foundation. He cannot be shaken.

I have told folks for years, if the ship is sinking, grab what you know will float. Our parents and grandparents saw much harder times than these. The old folks told me stories of the Civil War, of the Spanish Influenza Epidemic. They told me how they lived through The Great Depression, WWII. I watched those before me live through humanly impossible hardships and personal struggles. They drew close to family, faith in God, to good friends. They worked hard and did what they had to do. They did not give up.

I believe there is a great anointing of Hope, Faith, and Godly Resilience for His children in this hour. However, this will not be imparted to us and in us without seeking Him and seeking Him as never before. We are going back to the Bible, and to Jesus for a foundation check and a new anointing. God wants us to get back to basics, and decomplicate our lives in this ever more complicated and hostile world. We must seek from our own works and center on His. It is time to rest.

I have particularly been praying for the safety of shopping centers, malls, public gatherings, sports events, churches, schools, and college campuses over the last few days. The insane spirit of hatred, murder, and mayhem is stirred up. It is so plain that Satan hates this nation and that we have opened breeches in our spiritual defenses with our national obsession with thumbing our noses in God’s Face!

Many mature believers and ministers are experiencing deep depression, and even feeling suicidal thoughts. I believe this is the oppression that hangs over this nation. I am encouraging believers to take communion at home regularly; many are doing this daily. I believe for Christians today in America, communion is as significant as the first communion of Passover when the Israelites were about to leave Egypt during the great judgments.

Get ready to see the Lord as never before. We will see the days of heaven on earth in the Harvest of the Ages. We will not be able to discern between the voice of weeping and worship. It will be the best of days and the worst of days. The Kingdom of God will soon be readily discernable. Don’t mean to sound “preachy”, but someone reading this is being healed of osteoporosis. Thanks for praying for the safety of these public places during the Christmas shopping season and beyond—pray for the Super Bowl as well. We are targets in our free and open society.

A Walled City Against the Lord

I spoke this word at a Prophetic Ministries Fellowship conference at The Sanctuary of Dublin, Saturday, November 22, 2008. I encourage you to prayerfully listen to this important message.

"Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. And when the people of Ashdod arose early in the morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and set it in its place again. And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only Dagon's torso  was left of it. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon nor any who come into Dagon's house tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day." — 1 Samuel 5:1-5

Check the Foundation

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem. It is firm, a tested and precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never run away again. I will take the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness to check the foundation wall you have built. Your refuge looks strong, but since it is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, the enemy will come like a flood to sweep it away." — Isaiah 28:16,17 (NLT)

Reaching Critical Mass

Friends,

As I pray the words I keep hearing from the Lord are "enough” and “critical mass”. He has given me another Scripture for this election,

“At time to gain, and a time to lose: at time to keep, and a time to throw away.” —Ecclesiastes 3: 6

Read this in juncture with 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 and Psalm 94:19-23.

Our culture has been dominated since 1963 by forces that hate God and have done everything possible to remove Him from our society. Since 1973 50,000,000 babies have been aborted. The average earnings of one person in their lifetime is $1,000,000.00.

The factor of 50,000,000 babies, all 35 and under, multiplied by their average lifetime earnings is a staggering amount. I,000 multiplied by 50,000,000 is $50,000,000,000, or fifty trillion dollars. Our national debt is fifty-seven trillion dollars and we are sweating a trillion dollar temporary bailout.

Look at the real numbers. Multiply 50,000,000 babies times their average earnings of $1,000,000.00 .

The numbers are staggering:

$5 X 10 to the 13th power!  It is too much for me to comprehend or to get right, but we have aborted  $50,000,000,000,000.00 (fifty quadrillion dollars)!

Now I understand why the Lord told me a month ago the economy was not the issue, but abortion was, and He had had enough innocent blood shed.

Now I know why our system is being judged.

In 1974 the American Psychological Association stated homosexuality was normal. Since then millions have been enslaved and died premature deaths through aids.

In 1983 the Supreme Court declared that it was un-Constitutional to post the Ten Commandments in our school classrooms because children might read and obey.

Now elementary school kids are taken on field trips to gay weddings. Preachers with Bibles can’t get to school kids but sodomites with condoms can.

Now some mental health professionals say sex between adults and children is not harmful when there is a caring relationship.

Our tax dollars are spent to kill 4,000 babies a day, turn our children away from Jesus, and pervert them.

We have bankrupted ourselves rebelling against God. We have created a government funded underclass who, after three generations, believe they are “entitled” to be supported, with no responsibility or effort on their parts, but it is their “right."

I am a very compassionate man who does his best to give and support those in need.

I also see what the “War on Poverty” has produced morally in this nation. Any honest and rational person would admit the same. Another Utopian experiment has failed—study the history and decline of such social experiments, most of which began and failed with humanist anti-Christian monarchs and philanthropists after the “Great Enlightenment.”

No amount of money can buy us humans out of the consequences of a fallen nature.  Who is the most moral?  A woman who lives on welfare, in government housing, and has five children by five different men is considered a failure;  a woman who makes 6 figures a year, wears designer clothes, drives a sports car, and has had five abortions by five different men is a motivational speaker for young women.

No government can redeem us from our sin.

We are at the end of a fifty year experiment of throwing God and common sense out of our nation, and throwing money at the self-created vacuum, while aborting the future prosperity of generations.

Fifty quadrillion dollars—we are idiots gone to seed.

God is about to overthrow the overthrow.

It will not be pretty. This is a time for keeping and throwing away, for gaining and losing.
Chaos from crazies, unless God intervenes, will uproot many innocent people.

Whatever foundation we stand upon not rooted in Christ will be shaken. Imagine trying to redecorate a home whose foundation was broken and uneven, That’s what we are trying to do as individuals and a nation.

God says “Enough."

I was raised speaking Spanish.  I saw this insanity coming in the 90’s. I preached it. It is all on tape somewhere. It would be an easy matter for me to assimilate into a Latin country.

I decided to remove my family from harm’s way—my children were young. I picked out three South American countries for emigration and looked up their embassies to begin the process.

This was 1992.

I justified my decision—my ancestors had left great Britain nearly 3 centuries before to escape oppression, both religious and financial. I found three countries with developing economies and willing to accept emigrants. I can do ministry anywhere. Actually, it would have been quite beneficial for my young son and toddler daughter to have been out of this mess called America.

…if it had been God.

I picked up the phone about to call the first embassy and the Lord spoke to me.

“Will you abandon your country at the hour of her greatest need?”

I put the phone down and said out loud,

“Well, I was going to, but don’t guess so now.”

Then I had two visions.

The first was odd, Jesus dressed in an Uncle Sam uniform, like an old enlistment poster from WWI or WWII. He was weeping, holding out torn, pierced, and bleeding hands. He said, “I need you!  Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country!”

While I was pondering this vision, I had the second.

I was watching a huge ship heading towards a rocky shore at full speed. The hull of the ship was the map of the United States. Every possible degradation, debauchery, sin, abomination, uncleanness, vileness, rebellion possible was being propagated at altars of Hell on the deck; no one was at the helm of the ship because no one on the deck wanted anyone guiding the ship—the captain’s post at the wheel empty and locked.

Those who were blindly destroying themselves on the deck were so away from God and so consumed by their sin and idolatry, they could not see the ship was about to crash. They loved the darkness rather than the Light—they did not care. They had what they wanted.

A proportionately small group of Christians were at the aft of the deck, on their knees, weeping—Jesus was standing over them with His Hands outstretched above them; His Head was bowed and He was weeping. He was not wanted on the rest of the deck or at the helm, nor were the group of Christians praying for the nation.

Jesus looked over His Shoulder and saw that destruction was imminent: He gave the order, “Throw out the anchor; the anchor will hold!”

The weeping group brought out the anchor and held it up. It was a cross with a church building on the crossbeam—Jesus nodded sadly, and the anchor was thrown overboard.

I saw under the water and watched the anchor drag along for a bit, until it caught upon a Rock big enough to hold.

The Rock was Jesus Christ.

Remember the ship/nation was plunging full speed ahead; remember those on the deck were so away from God and so engrossed in their rebellion they did not even realize destruction was upon them.

When the anchor, the Church, caught on the Rock, Jesus Christ, the ship, the nation, was suddenly halted on her path of destruction.  All those about to be destroyed, but who didn’t know and didn’t care, were snatched down from their wickedness.

Instead of being grateful, they turned upon the anchor with a vengeance.

Friends, I can tell you with all confidence, the Anchor has been thrown out; the Anchor will hold.

Get ready, for this is the Year of Jubilee—a season of fifty years of rebellion against God is coming to an end. Be grateful to the Lord, but brace yourselves for the backlash.

The anti-Christian vitriolism and desire for vengeance will be Biblical.

This is a time to gain and a time to lose, to gain and to throw away.

“…Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” —Hebrews 8:13b

A half-century of pompous, blood soaked rebellion against God, decades of government sponsored depravity and destruction, is about to come to an end. God is judging our system, primarily for the murder of 50,000,000 million babies.

Intercession is a must, for the monster the government has created cannot be fed anymore: there is simply nothing left with which to feed it—feral people without natural affection and filled with hatred for the Truth will be poured out by Satan as a drink offering of retaliation against the people of God.

I also believe if our system in its dying gasps puts on pressure to divide the tiny nation of Israel, our nation will be divided by earthquakes. Our national rebellion seems to increase the harder things get.

The Church’s sin before God is our willingness to sleep in the bosom of and be in agreement with this monstrous system which opposes Him. We are being driven from Babylon to Zion, and will either carry the Cross, or spit in Jesus’ Face.

Harvest is upon us as well—be ready to truly walk in a New Testament Church: great miracles, great deliverances, great repentance, great fear of God, great opposition.

You must remember that sometimes it is the will of God for opposition and persecution to come to the Church—we are at war and kingdoms in conflict. Ours is gaining, the kingdom of darkness is crumbling and Satan is wroth, knowing his time is short.

Remember your training and what sort of people we should be.

This is our finest hour. The fool has said in his heart there is no God.

God bless and keep, and guide us gullible and frightened believers.

I will close with this prophetic song the Lord gave me on 10-15-08 at our home church, “The Sanctuary"...

“In Me, says the Lord, all things live, and move, and have their being, and so do you; Don’t despair beloved! A great Harvest is come and the things of the earth are growing dim, as you see Heaven more clearly. By Me, all things are held together, and whoever does not want Me will fall apart. But you will stand, because you are Mine.

When others tremble in fear about what people hear, you will say, “My Redeemer lives, He lives in me, He is near, He sets the captives free. I know on what Rock I stand, He holds me in His Hand, I know in Whom I have believed!”

Hold your face strong towards Me—so much ahead for you and the world to see—for I still have a Grand Finale!

It’s time for you to smile again—you know how this age will end, so see deception and choose the Truth. Your promises are still in Me, Your Future and Your Destiny.

You know that I will never end, never come to a final moment, for I AM Everlasting, from age to age.

In Me you are always and eternal, so despise all that is infernal—come and take your place in Me.”

Is it Really God?

Many claim to speak on behalf of God, and numerous manifestations are claimed to be from God. But, we would be wise to discern the spirit and not blindly follow that, which on the surface, appears to be God.

Which Way Are You Running?

I am amazed at the Lord.

I suppose it is what He must do to get to and speak through one such as me, but He continually astounds me.

Today when my pastor was assisting me with this site, he wanted to "do a run" to go through the steps.

He said, "Give me a title."

The moment he did, "Which Way Are You Running?" ran through my mind.

The following vision flooded my soul as I was speaking and he began typing the words:

I saw a great many people running hysterically in opposite directions as quickly as possible-some were screaming. The division between them was not plain in the beginning of the vision, but the ground began to shake: it was if a line were drawn.

They began to run faster and harder...

Some were running as hard as they could to a flaming altar at the foot of the Throne of God.

The others were running blindly and hysterically in the opposite direction away from the Light and Fire of God's Presence. The shaking increased....

When there were no people left in the middle, the ground between them split open into a great chasm.

I believe the question of the Holy Spirit, so pointed and timely in our shaking and unsteady world, is to you and to me,

"Which way are you running?"

I have both the privilege and burden of being privy to what goes on in the lives of many people—these are days of outpouring, I believe what is prophesied in the Book of Joel is coming to pass,

"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, your old men shall dream visions; and also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."—Joel 2: 28-29

Please note, God is pouring out His Spirit on ALL flesh—that means every human being and every living creature on the earth, ALL flesh, ALL inclusive. The work of the Holy Spirit in the New Covenant is to reveal Jesus, convict of sin, teach, lead, and guide into Truth—He broods, creates, exposes.

The Word also tells us that everything that can be shaken will be shaken, that what can be shaken will be removed, and that we are receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken (Hebrews 11: 27-28). The same passage also tells us that God is a consuming Fire. He is Light.

I am of the opinion that our human nature is so bound to comfort, security, being in control, having all the answers, etc, that sometimes what can be shaken needs to be shaken so I can accurately discern the unshakable Kingdom I am receiving.  We Americans take so much for granted that we presume to be permanent, part of God's Will and Kingdom, the way things are and ever will be—so many tangibles that are in fact, subject to be opposed to the Will of God whenever my will and His conflict.

So much of what we believe is standing on the Rock, is in fact, a tea party in a house of cards!

In the midst of the shaking, in the center of system that opposes Truth and exalts pagan idolatry and rebellion against God, in the outpouring of God's Spirit on ALL flesh, two camps are being manifested by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the exposure of the darkness by God's fire and light.

You see friends, Satan is not gaining ground, He and his nature that has such inroads into human rebellion against God is being revealed by God's outpouring. Christ is being manifested in those who love the Truth and anti-Christ is being manifested in those who despise Him.

Our sons and daughters, our old and young, those who love and serve the Lord manifest His Spirit when He pours Himself out—-those who hate him manifest anti-christ. Both of these are marvels of mercy and judgment, a work of God's Spirit.

This is a most unwanted visitation.

We love to go "where" God is moving, and sit at the feet of "who" He is moving through, our season pass at Six Flags Over Jesus. We love to be touched, blessed, healed, prospered, to go back to our lives with God's blessing upon us to make our stuff work. We struggle to be touched to go back and surrender to a system that hates Him and us, wondering why we battle such schism in our souls!

What we do not want is the conflict, the pathos of being changed, of seeing what we do not want to see and knowing what we do not want to know...

It is the Consuming Fire of His Presence, the altar of His Throne, where no flesh can glory in His Presence—there the shaking increases, the Light shines, exposing the darkness, embarrassing our pride and washing away our religious perfume. The shaking cause the sand to fall away from the Rock.

We are forced to run either to Higher Ground, upon the Rock and into the Light, or to flee His Presence, to try to struggle once again to build on the sand, to implore Him to make our lives what we want them to be,

"Lord, not Thy will, but mine be done!"

Beware saints, the chasm is opening and two kingdoms are being manifested in their fullness by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Light and Darkness, Christ and anti-christ, Truth and Apostasy.

I ask again, which way are you running?

HUBRIS: "The Delusion of Pride"

I was ministering recently in another state. The word “hubris” came into my spirit while I was ministering. The Holy Spirit routinely improves my vocabulary by telling me words I don’t understand. I asked the congregants if anyone knew what the word meant; one said she thought it pertained to pride.

The next day she brought me a note with the following,

“hubris- wanton insolence or arrogance resulting from excessive pride or from passion.”

I was in the act of ministering to someone with the laying on of hands when I received this word the night before. Since we were all ignorant of the meaning of this word, I prayed something like,

“Lord, I break any negative effect of hubris, in Jesus’ Name.”

My soul has been greatly troubled by this word in the days following to the extent I have done some research on hubris and have written this with a heavy heart.

I have wondered if hubris is a snare in my soul, or is the bedrock of human presumption and foolishness against the will of God. Ancient Greek tragedy embodied hubris as an act of transgression or overbearing pride that offended the mythical Greek gods and led to retribution. Hubris is pride so delusional that it goes outside and beyond the parameters of human knowledge, action, or capacity to the extent that it is a direct violation of the will, and intrusion to the dominion of the gods.

Historical imperial hubris could be seen as a ruler so corrupted by his own power, position, wealth, importance, or authority that he makes presumptuous autocratic decisions which bring down the entire empire.

I was once watching a series on Henry VIII’s relationship with Anne Boleyn. He strode into her father’s estate into the presence of Anne’s sister, who was heavily pregnant with the king’s child and fainted when she saw him. King Henry came to the estate not to tend to the woman who was carrying his child, but to insist that Anne Boleyn give him her charms as well. The father of these girls could only submit to this ludicrous tyrant’s lechery or face death. Part of Henry’s attraction to Anne was that she stood up to him, and refused to be “the King’s whore.” She made some allusion to the King’s unreasonable demands. King Henry basically informed Anne Boleyn that he was the King anointed by God and that his word was the word of God.

Henry VIII dissolved his marriage to his faithful first wife, married Anne, who gave birth to the great English queen, Elizabeth I, and then beheaded Anne within 3 years because she did not give him a male heir, all the while deluding himself and bullying his subjects with the scepter of a supposed Divine mandate.

A royal horror series ensued, with Henry marrying and beheading prospective male baby incubators. One of his proceeding 6 wives died of the complications of childbirth of his only surviving son, who died in youth.

His last wife, more of a caretaker, survived the prematurely aged, diseased and debauched king. It seems Henry was a syphilitic. The unacceptable miscarriages, still births, and sickly babies that the debased tyrant blamed and killed his wives for were the result of his own arrogance and sin—hubris!

Thank God for democracy in our government!

Thank God for the liberty we have in Christ.

Another element of hubris in Greek tragedy seems to be the tolerance of the gods in its beginning stages. Hubris, especially surrounding the dynamics of ancient royalty supposedly overseen by the Greek deities, was viewed by the gods as a kind of youthful rite of passage—what we Christians would call the boastful pride of life. Kings and princes would be given a throne with life and death authority overshadowed in the unseen realm by divine oversight, observation, promotion, and protection. The gods would test the fiber and character of these chosen ones by how they handled themselves in the matters of rule, state, heart, and personal life. The faults and misdeeds of these emerging men and women would be seemingly overlooked for a season—they were being proven and assayed.

The Greek gods, when offended, became antagonists, and injected into the mind of the one who had lost favor, the noose of unbridled hubris. The vision and tools to rule became rope in the hands of the royal reject, whose delusional pride and blind presumption upon yesterday’s favor wove the self-strangling cord of foolhardy edicts and subsequent tragic events.

I can not help but draw parallels in Scriptural accounts of God’s dealings with His people. I wonder at many of the heartbreaking events in my own life, knowing full well that in some instances, I was the instigator of my own hurt, because I would not listen to truth or common sense. I often say in preaching that God will never make you do anything: you will live to wish to God you had obeyed if you disobey.

How hard it is to truly see the heart motivation! I can make anarchy against the humbling aspects of God’s dealings with me a religious mantra. I can appear strong. I can tithe anise and cumin and spices but omit the weighty things of the law such as mercy and truth. Such a façade may appear righteous and strong but is actually a cover for self-serving, weakness, and vulnerability.

Much of the correction we receive as Christians under grace is not the horrible judgments of the Law, or the caprice of fictional Greek deities. Sometimes God allows us to eat the bread we have baked. It is our own fault if we do not listen to His guidance in our choice of the ingredients we are using. The greatest chastening I have seen as a believer is eating the bitter fruit and disappointment of my own disobedience.

Ouch! That and receiving the truth of the source my own self-styled recompense is a greater test. I must remember that whatever I sow, I reap. My human nature will try to lash out and find an external enemy to blame for the bitter, gravel-injected fruit I am striving to eat. The truth is that I am the proprietor, manager, cook and main customer of a one-man, one-table restaurant. What I eat is what I fix or allow. If someone else throws poison in my dough, I don’t have to eat it. I can see the hand of others meddling in my kitchen—it is my own to which I am willfully blind.

The really scary part is that I am anointed by God as a Christian to influence the lives of others, and especially as a minister. I will feed others what I eat myself. This is why teachers bear the greater condemnation—we are anointed to teach others but have to live in and walk out obedience like everyone else. The defiling bitter root of blinding pride will not only be a thorn in my own, but in the side of everyone in my sphere of influence.

We Christians seem to have mastered the art of the double-standard. Years ago I read this bumper sticker on the car of a very troubled young woman I was counseling,

“If you love something let it go. If it doesn’t come back, kill it.”

I watched this woman kill opportunity, kill a marriage, abuse children, embrace destruction, and systematically undermine her entire life because she had to be a victim. She had to blame others to justify the bad taste in her mouth. The pride of her pain was its own motivation. The humility and fear of accepting failure, weakness, imperfection, and the subsequent flood of grace and healing was too threatening to pierce the pride-armor.

We read the Scriptures and like to talk about love, and forgiveness, but so often our expression and acceptance and of this or any Holy truth becomes self-emanent out of the preferred will of God we embrace and tolerate. Convenience to me and my world being the center of God’s plan is the balance of truth, not the Scripture nor the conviction of the Holy Spirit. This is hubris, believing that what suites me and my universe is the will of God. Thus, anything or anyone conflicting or disagreeing with the center of my self-emanent reality is not the will of God, and I must fight people and circumstances which are contrary.

Raising children is a great example of this is the schism of double-standards. All the experts on handling teenagers in the Church have toddlers, or have never raised children. If my child is in difficulty or does something contrary to the image I have raised him to project, then my child is under attack by the enemy. I must find and fight that enemy, whether natural or spiritual. I could write several examples of people I have hurt and alienated defending my children in normal circumstances of growing up. I could not accept that my child would do or be anything less than everything I had expected for him. Someone had to pay or to be more wrong than him.

The hard fact is that I am stone-throwing when my child is rebelling against the will of God in his life, or is simply immature and soulish.

The underlying bitter bread of this double-standard is that I am condemned by my own heart because I have secretly believed the children of others were bad kids and their parents failed Christians when their children did the same or less than my own beloved offspring. I have occupied the judgment seat. I have leavened my bread the self-rising way, elevating my status on the weak and broken backs of others.

There are two basic deceptions of hubris in this scenario familiar to most Christian parents. First, I have imprisoned my child in the false reality that they exist to make me proud of my parenting skills. They must project the vision of my success as a parent and believer, especially in the eyes of others. They must not make me ashamed. They must not be imperfect. Even though I may secretly know my child is human, no one else had better touch his frailties. I have a list of all the faults of those who would make me or my child look bad. I am justified and have the ammunition to defend my pride and to deny that sin is crouching at my door.

So did Cain. Under what pretense do I murder my brother?

Behind the façade of some of the greatest offense and anger I have projected towards others in dealings with my children, I have been secretly relieved my kids were not as bad as me when I was their age! Thank God!

Secondly, because I am the center of the self-emanent truth of God, I think I am better at child-rearing than others and that my children are better. I can easily defend my hubris by looking on opposition to my truth as noise from lower life forms.

The saddest part is that I will face the truth of my own heart and the reality of imperfection in this life as the chain of events I have created and released gathers weight and speed. Each succeeding seed will be larger with bigger messes and worse circumstances.

I will eat bread from my bakery.

Hubris is hard on the outside and appears impenetrable. It is only a thin crust of survival and self-defense. The inside is hollow and contains only fear. The foundation I stand on in hubris will not bear any weight for long. After all, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Hubris is the precursor to great crumbling in our lives, whether the outcome takes moments, days, years, or a lifetime. Look at I Corinthians 12: 22-25,

“But instead, there is (absolute) necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak. And those (parts) of the body which we consider rather ignoble are (the very parts) which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum), which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so adjusted (mingled, harmonized, and subtly proportioned the parts of) the whole body, giving the greater honor and richer endowment to the inferior parts which lack (apparent importance), so that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation (of the parts of the body to each other), but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another.”

The story I am about to relate I have been told several times, but have never seen it written—perhaps one of you has it in a more accurate and fact relevant form. If so please send it to me.

This took place during the reign of one of the Roman emperors who was particularly disposed to persecute Christians and to tax Roman citizens to the hilt. Romans were prone to try to hide wealth from the state for this reason. The Romans wanted a picture perfect world. They despised poverty, physical weakness, or deformity of any kind. Abortion, infanticide, and the disposal of unwanted or handicapped babies was common practice. Unwanted babies, as well as the sick and diseased were placed outside the gates of the city to die of exposure. The poor were so much chattel under the feet of the rich and powerful.

Informants were paid, and word got back to the authorities that a leader of the forbidden Christian sect was boasting of the great wealth and treasure he and his congregation possessed.

Corruption also abounded, and greedy officials saw the way to build status, by busting this group of Christians, and to get rich by seizing their gold and silver. A group of soldiers burst into an underground meeting, demanding to see the now legendary treasure trove.

The Church leader smiled, and spread his arms towards his people, showing the orphans, the widows, the beggars, the retarded, the crippled, the outcasts, and said,

“Here sirs are the great treasures Jesus has entrusted us with!”

Can you imagine the shock, dismay, spiritual blindness and disgust these powerful men felt?

These human treasures are the very ones we seek to minimalize and back-row in our image and status fellowship. I could make a copious list of examples of people trashed in Christianity because they were “not what the church was looking for.” I think many of them were probably angels.

When I first was saved, I lived in a house ministry that took in single men. There were many of us in a large home manned by a Godly older pastor, and maintained by older sisters who lived on the same property. We fellows were of different ages and background, but all in need of Jesus. One of the men there was from a wealthy family—he obviously had “breeding and background”. He was somewhat refined and sometimes volunteered to cook for the group—we all took the evening meal together as part of the communal fellowship of brothers.

Another man, one of the oldest, was barely five-feet tall—Little John. John had spent most of his life in prison and came from the direst of circumstances. He was really broken by his life—he had lost everything. He had no teeth. He had physical infirmities and some type of abnormality in his feet and legs which caused him to walk oddly. Most of his personal habits were shaped by years of prison life, including eating his food quickly. He had some breathing difficulties, and had no sense of taste, so he doused all of his food with hot sauce. He made noises when he ate.

Because of his past the only job John could find was the graveyard shift in a convenience store in the worst part of town. He was later found murdered on the job—he had put up a valiant struggle.

John took great pride in his job, and was slavish to detail. It was hard for him to relate to many people, and he was easily embarrassed. Rejection was all he had known.

One night, our refined brother fixed a gourmet meal for the rest of us to enjoy—he wanted us to savor and enjoy the fruit of his “sacrifice”. He was noticeable irritated when John did not want to try most of the dishes that had been prepared. John was a meat and potatoes man, plus he could not chew foods that were hard or not well done. The older sisters knew this and would cater to him.

Our chef was agitated when Little John began to cover his plate with red pepper sauce. He exploded when John hung his head over his food and began to snort and snurf and shovel it in,

“Honestly John, your table manners are so bad, the angels will put you at a little card table at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb!”

John turned bright red and almost buried his face in the plate—there was a moment of awkward silence. Another man at the table said softly,

“Yes, and it will be right by the Throne of God!”

None of us knew Little John would soon be dead, stabbed over forty times!

It pays to have looks, money, and talent in Churchywood!

We say we love one another, but many of us carry the young woman’s bumper sticker on our heart. We try to kill what conflicts with self-emanent hubris. All you losers beware. I love you, but I will kill you if you don’t yield to my imminent domain! Vengeance is mine saith the god of my hubris.

Sometime ago, a Christian businessman I knew was in trouble. He asked me to pray for him, his family, and his business. I knew him when he was an employee and not a business owner. I knew him when his business was beginning and struggling. I knew him when he applied himself and was greatly blessed of the Lord. He entered into a season when everything he touched exploded into financial increase. They moved up in the world. They lived well.

I knew him when he became ego-centered instead of God-centered. His children were given the best of everything to the exclusion of others. The family now had the money to change their reality when it became unpleasant. I knew him when people became dispensable. I knew him when he began to make decisions that were totally alien to Scriptural concepts, yet he stated, were the will of God. I knew him when hubris took him into a place of pride and anger instead of humility.

His world began to be shaken. His foundation was hollow and filled with fear. He had experienced betrayal and trouble from others he had drawn near to him in the past. Trusted employees appealed to him for balance and reason. He branded them as traitors and demoted or dismissed them.

He surrounded himself with employees who were self-seeking and ruthless—they were demonically anointed to assist in this downward spiral. They told him what he wanted to hear, sifted the company for information, and corrupted what remained of unity in the business—they were spies who shifted every word and presumed intention of their fellow employees to fit the fears of this businessman.

The brother became his own worst enemy.

His self-emanent truth was pushing him into a ditch. He began a mad search through his business to route out everyone he improperly discerned to be opposing him—someone else had to be the source of his trouble. After all, God had given him this vision of business and had blessed it. It was sliding in financial standing and status. This was an attack of the enemy!

I had a vision of him while praying for him I shall never forget.

I saw a dark forest, much like I would imagine a rainforest, with a thick canopy over head. Dim light dappled the floor; this was a shadow land unknown by most. There was a thick tangle of undergrowth and many little paths crisscrossing endlessly. I saw this man as half-beast, covered with hair, with a long tail, fangs and claws. He was a hunter, a beast of prey. He was on the trail of blood. I saw him search these paths in an instinctual frenzy, driven by something that was not human. He would stop and raise himself from all fours to sniff the air. I heard him say this,

“ I’m going to find it this time. I can smell it. I can’t see it, but I can smell it. I’m going to get to the bottom of this. I’m going to find them. I have discernment. I’m going to tear them apart.”

He began furrowing down the circling, crossing paths gathering speed as he went. Suddenly he stopped. He saw a furry object protruding from under a branch. He growled and grabbed the unfortunate beast and began devouring it—with each bite he screamed and howled in pain. The beast he had seized and was devouring was his own tail!

The pain the manbeast felt made him angry. He believed he had found and was destroying the source of all his trouble. The more he hurt, the more he blamed what he assumed was an external foe. The more he ate, the more blood he tasted. The more blood he tasted, the more he sought it. The more he bit, the more he hurt. The more he hurt, the angrier he became and the more determined to destroy the source of his pain.

I watched this scene in terror. I asked the Lord when he would realize he was devouring himself and that he was his own enemy. The Lord told me this could take years, and that the pain would become very intense when he finished the tail and got to the trunk of his body. Then he would either have to face what was happening, or he would self-destruct.

Great sorrow filled me. Pride does indeed come before a fall. The noose of hubris is that many devour themselves in the name of defense and protection. I saw so many instances of myself through meditation upon this vision.

We must not forget the warning of James 3: 14-17 Amplified:

“But if you bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. This superficial wisdom is not what comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition) there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices. But the wisdom from above is first all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is whole-hearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned—free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity.”

Christians must realize that not all spiritual discernment is from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reveals Truth—He is not the spirit of accusation, defilement, or fault-finding. I must question the source of my “wisdom” if I never see anything wrong with my ways, but always see the weakness and failures of others. What better way could Satan invent to destroy the servant of God than to convince him his own will was the will of God, and everything that opposes him is an attack of the enemy?

I say again and again that so much of our warfare is never ending because it is not Satan we are fighting! I believe it is a division in our own soul and spirit because we are opposing and being opposed by God in our pride.

One of the saddest elements of hubris in Greek tragedy was the ancient belief that whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad. Ultimate insanity is to not allow God to reveal anything imperfect or against what I perceive is His will. So much of what we say is the will of God is anathema to the Cross.

Pride is madness. Unbridled pride is blindness. Pride which presumes to be the will of God is mad, blind hubris.

I am not a pastor, but if the Lord should ever lead me to pastor again, I have toyed with the idea of naming a fellowship “Broken Vessels”, or “Not Many Wise Ministries”. We are all so needy and dependent for more of Him. We will not create Utopia in this life.

The Body of Christ is at the precipice of a Jordan crossing.

We will not march over in our victory, authority, pride, and prosperity. The only governing power will be the Lord and the only control, our self-control.

Reformation will precede revival. We will make this crossing with a broken heart on bended knees. Each of us will see Him and ourselves in His perfect love and light. We will each mourn for all we have maimed and deformed in our hubris. We will marvel at the grace extended to us in our iniquity we embraced as the unction of God. So much of what I say is God is simply my flesh masquerading as a humble servant.

We will all wrestle with God before the breaking of the Day and will have our hubris thrown into our faces. We will have our nature changed and become limping princes on a rotted joint that will no longer support our weight or give us strength—what once supported our strutting about will cause great pain and force us to lean heavily on the Everlasting Arms.

If we refuse to deal with God in this season we will die on the wrong side of the River of God and walk in our strength in a nature unchanged. The fact we don’t limp will be our justification not to have crossed. You see, it simply can’t be the will of God for me to appear to be anything less than absolutely perfect. All those limping, weak, maimed examples of Christians must be those who have some fault before God. You see, I don’t limp. I look the way I’m supposed to. I am right with God. I am strong.
I have my teeth, I’ve never been in prison, I have perfect table manners, I have a life, I don’t make noises when I eat—I’m not like Little John. I am of full stature; I will not be at a little card table at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb!

Sometimes I wonder who I am really trying to convince, others, or myself. Is it really worth holding such gangrene together?

Could it be I am so fragile I can not bear any disagreement, not ever from God? Why do I strive so to be right?

Perhaps hubris is the wrong choice in a natural spiritual process of breaking and remolding. Jesus never changes. Everyone and everything else does. Perhaps a scalding, chapping, fraying season of hubris is inevitable in each of us until the boastful pride of life is broken—I hope not….breaking is much easier than crushing!

The really scary thing about hubris is that at the same time God is challenging His people about change none of us really wants, the enemy is visiting with apostasy. We are in the season of Jude and 11Peter.

Who actually sits on the throne of your heart? What bridles the motivation and intent of the reins of your soul?

What war are you actually fighting?

Is that the devil you are waging war against, or are you wrestling with God?

Am I strangling myself with a noose of hubris?

Have I chased my own tail until I have caught it?

"When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation."—Pr 10:25 This is the Scripture the Lord gave me in the waning days of 2006.
